Taking Down Goliath in 3 Turns of a Sling

Growing debt can be a giant!  What do you do with the giants in your world?  Do you defeat or retreat?  Don’t let credit card debt and unpaid bills march around in defiance. Instead, take ‘em down one by one.

There are many suggestions, ideas and philosophies even on paying down debt and achieving financial freedom. This article contains one of those methods, and a very good one at that!  Read on to learn the proven method of tackling debt and eliminating credit card debt altogether!

Coined and termed, this process involves strategic payoffs of credit card, and other debt, one by one - until they’re all done.

It’s This Easy:

1.  List your debt.

If you are going after an enemy, you want to know about him. What does he look like? Isn’t a bad place to start! So, draw it out. List your debts in order from smallest amount owed to the largest. Write out the minimum balances required for each. Don’t be overwhelmed by the sight.  Remember, we are strategizing here.

2. Look over your current budget.

If you don’t have one, make a quickie.  You are looking for how much you currently pay out monthly for your debts and how much you can afford to pay towards them.  Once you have that grand total, compare it to your current debt scenario.  Taking that amount and applying it towards the minimum balances you listed in Step 1, how much would you have leftover?  Good. Now take that amount and apply it to the balance of your smallest debt.

3. Now you’re on a roll.

After you pay off your first credit card or other debt, you will start to see momentum.  Take the total you were paying towards that “small debt” and add that to the minimum you are paying on the next one in line.  This process attacks debts one at a time and keeps you encouraged as you see debts being checked off your list.  Continue to roll with the punches applying this process until you have paid the last of them. Wham, bam, thank you ma’am!

You’ve heard the saying, “How do you eat an elephant?”  One bite at a time.  And, so it is with your giants. Don’t let piling debt keep you from the financial freedom you ought to have.  Go after it today.  And, remember, David killed Goliath with just a sling and a stone!
